2010 Recognition

Reviewing, Rewarding and the 2010 Recognition Program

With current forecasts suggesting that 50,000-55,000 visitors will be in Whistler each day of the Olympic Games in February 2010, the majority of businesses are expected to be extremely busy.  Your business’ reputation and success relies on the quality of service delivered to your guests and clients.  In the 2009/10 season, and particularly over the period of the Games, one of the challenges you will face as a business owner will be how to keep your staff motivated to deliver outstanding service when the volume of visitors (and their associated needs) will be at an all time high.

Starting this season, we are linking the Reviewing and Rewarding components of the Spirit Program, via the 2010 Recognition Program, the objective of which is to elevate the level of guest experience to heights never seen before in the lead up to, and during the Games, and to maintain the guest experience at a consistently high level throughout the 2009/10 season.

2010 Recognition Program

In order to participate in the 2010 Recognition Program, businesses must enroll in the 3-months Mystery Shopper Program, December – February, 2010.  By doing so, businesses will not only receive specific feedback on how well their employees are connecting, assisting and exceeding guests’ expectations, but also will automatically and at no additional cost have the opportunity to recognize their employees for excellent performance.

Details are:

Registration in the Mystery Shopper Program is open until Friday, November 13, 2009 at 5.00pm and limited to 100 businesses.

Participating businesses will be grouped into the following sectors:

o Restaurant and Bars
o Cafes
o Retail
o Activity providers
o Grocery stores
o Miscellaneous

Businesses will be professionally shopped in person and/or by phone, 4 times per month in December, January and February.

The 3 businesses in each sector that receive the highest score each month for customer service delivered will be publicly recognized as the Bronze, Silver and Gold sector winners and awarded 2010 Olympic related prizes that business owners can use as tools to inspire employees to excel in service delivery this season.  The cache associated with the prizes will build from month to month as follows:
