Winter Employment
Some employers hire their staff early (especially for the winter season), and wait until the season actually starts before putting them to work. BE PREPARED & HAVE EXTRA MONEY TO LIVE ON because even if you find a job, it could be a few weeks before you receive a paycheque.

Summer Employment
Whistler golf courses, hotels, stores, and restaurants have a very busy summer season which usually begins in June. The mountains are open for glacier skiing/snowboarding and mountain biking, and there is an increased demand in the labour and construction industry.

Know the certification requirements before you apply! If you want a job serving alcohol, you’ll need a BC Serving It Right certificate. You can take the course online at www.servingitright.com.  If you are working with food you may need a FoodSafe certificate and many jobs will require that you have First Aid training

$ Pay $
Depending on where you work and your level of responsibilities you can make anywhere from minimum wage at $8.00/hour to much, much more.  Many jobs in the service industry, such as serving or bartending, can make you great cash tips.  Keep in mind that many businesses offer perks such as subsidized housing, ski passes & cash bonuses if you stay until the end of the season.
