Auditor General for Local Government
In November 2011, the Whistler Chamber of Commerce (WCC) was pleased to report that the Auditor General for Local Government would be created in British Columbia. The report came on the heels of an announcement made also in November by Premier Christy Clark.

WCC strongly supports the creation of this office.  “Both senior levels of government are subject to independent scrutiny regarding their use of taxpayer money.  Local government is the only taxing level of government that is not subject to this level of scrutiny, so the Auditor General for Local Government will ensure that municipalities are accountable and employing best practices in the interest of local residents and businesses” said WCC President, Fiona Famulak.
