Whistler Chamber of Commerce
History:
In 1966 a small group of people met and elected the first Board of Directors of the Whistler Chamber. A Constitution was written and the Whistler Chamber was chartered under the Federal Board of Trade Act. The Whistler Chamber originally operated as a quasi-government for the fledgling community of Whistler, concerning itself with such issues as tourism, highways, water, snow removal, and lobbied for the establishment of not only a Regional District, but a Municipality. Over the years, the Chamber re-assessed its mandate and purpose, and in 2000 the Chamber's present bylaws were adopted.
