During the 2010 Winter Games there will be over 5,000 regional, national and international media people in Whistler. Talking to media and being interviewed on camera can be daunting. Learn how to convey your company’s message succinctly and confidently while enjoying the process. Whether you are a media relations veteran or just learning the ropes, 2010 Media Training will enable you to: 

• proactively engage media to cover your company’s news and events,
• know what to do when a reporter calls,
• craft key messages,
• prepare for interviews,
• handle negative questions,
• be a confident spokesperson,
• practice interview techniques for broadcast and print media,
• work with media in a crisis situation, and
• react quickly to media opportunities.

Workshop 1 – Classroom Training
This 3 hour workshop is designed to provide participants with an overview of how to work effectively with all levels of media – local, regional and international- leading up to, during and following the 2010 Winter Games. Each attendee will receive a workbook entitled “Working Effectively with The Media” as a take away and for more in-depth study.

Workshop 2 – Practical Training
This 4 hour session will provide business spokespeople with practical training, including group exercises and 30 minutes individual on-camera training.
