Women of Whistler Meeting

British Columbia’s Assistant Deputy Minister, Arts and Culture Division, Jane Milner will speak to the Women of Whistler businesswomen’s networking group on Monday February 26th 2007 at the Hilton Hotel Whistler.

Jane is responsible for leading the provincial government division that supports the development of sustainable arts and cultural sector and a creative economy. She also acts in a leadership role to major provincial and national cultural and arts organizations.

Jane has long been associated with arts and cultural groups particularly in her home town, Whistler. Jane will discuss the business of the arts, current government initiatives and results from research she is conducting with artists and art groups across the province. Developing a sustainable arts and cultural economy in Whistler in order to diversify the local economy is a major initiative of many local organizations. This promises to be an enlightening and vibrant evening.

The Women of Whistler, in association with Whistler Chamber of Commerce, host six meetings throughout the year. The meetings provide an opportunity for Whistler businesswomen to network, gain knowledge and share ideas in a friendly relaxed environment. The meeting, located in The Mount Currie room, Hilton Hotel, Whistler, begins at 6.00pm for registration, program begins at 6.30pm. Light refreshments will be served.
