2010 Workforce

Planning
The Whistler Chamber recommends to businesses to plan ahead for their 2010 workforce. This includes retention & recognition packages as well as planning for accommodations. For more information on the Chamber's temporary housing initiative click here.

HR Pooling
Plans are underway to identify organizations with full time staff not fully utilized during Games time to potentially "lend" staff to other businesses.

Day Care and Programming for school-aged kids
As of today it is not anticipated that any significant added capacity for daycare services will be available during Games time due to lack of qualified staff. The RMOW, Whistler Blackcomb and the Chamber are working together to develop elementary- and high school-aged children's programs that would be offered for a fee. Additionally there is the desire to offer an Olympic volunteer type program for 15- to 17-year olds that is not part of the VANOC volunteer program.

More details on any of these or additional initiatives will be posted as they become available.
