Advocacy in Action : Business Roundtables Presented by:

What is an Advocacy in Action Session?
Our power packed Advocacy in Action sessions, presented by TD, are business roundtables, designed for our Members to let us know what’s happening and where to take action.
These sessions are FREE for Members and are a great chance to discuss important issues, with the format alternating between specific focus topics and general round table discussions. Snacks and refreshments are provided.
These in-person sessions are an opportunity to speak frankly and let your Chamber know how we can make business better for you.
Spaces are limited so please pre-register.

GET INVOLVED
You can get involved in the Whistler Chamber’s advocacy efforts in a number of ways:
- Join our regular Advocacy in Action business roundtables. See above for dates
- Attend our events (e.g. All Candidates Meetings, Mayor’s Lunch). Check out the events calendar
- Complete our advocacy surveys. Tell us what’s on your mind and help us gather data to support our positions
- Join our Advocacy Committee, a committee of the Board (applications once per year)
- If there’s an issue we should be aware of right now, please email chamber@whistlerchamber.com
Advocacy Committee – Call out for new members!
The Advocacy Committee provides staff and Board with insights, guidance and support on critical and key issues that impact the business community in Whistler.
We are currently seeking several new members to join the Advocacy Committee. Our goal is to have representation across different sectors and business sizes.
How often do you meet? Approximately two-three hours, bi-monthly.
Who’s involved? A mix of Board Directors and members at large.
What’s the difference between the Advocacy in Action sessions and the Advocacy Committee? Advocacy in Action is a business roundtable where you can share your views. There is no requirement to attend regularly and no tasks are assigned to participants. At the Advocacy Committee, there is a commitment to attend regularly for one year. Participants are expected to take on tasks (e.g provide sector updates, assist in the development of messaging).
