MyHR isn’t your usual human resources company. This business offers expert human advisory services, all backed by advanced AI and actual expert humans, and all ready and easy to use on one simple platform.
From onboarding and performance reviews to insights, payroll, disputes, and more, MyHR offers support and guidance on all things people.
We recently chatted to MyHR Country Manager Julie Morris to learn a little more. Here’s what she had to say!
What inspired you to start MyHR?
I started my HR career in Whistler over 20 years ago and have always been passionate about making great HR support accessible to businesses of all sizes. When I connected with the MyHR team in New Zealand, I was excited to find a platform that combined expert HR advice with simple, effective software—at a price small businesses can afford. I’ve been leading MyHR’s expansion into Canada for the past year, bringing this powerful solution to local businesses.
What makes MyHR special?
MyHR simplifies people management by combining expert HR advisory services with easy-to-use software. We create custom employment contracts, handbooks, and policies, support managers through tricky employee situations, and streamline onboarding.
Most importantly, our clients have access to real HR professionals—on call when they need them. Our clients have as few as five employees and as many as 260 right now. Our current clients include the Sea to Sky Gondola, Silverback Treeworks, Fergies Cafe and Tourism Squamish to name a few.
Which product or service are you most proud of and why?
We’re most proud of our HR advisory support. Unlike other platforms, MyHR is backed by real people who understand the unique challenges of Whistler’s seasonal workforce. Our team is based right here in the Sea to Sky Corridor, so we’re able to offer advice that’s both expert and local.

What challenges do you face running a business in Whistler, and how do you manage them?
One challenge is connecting with the right-sized businesses—many don’t know there’s an affordable, high-quality HR option out there. We focus on sharing our story and the success our clients have had. Word of mouth has been powerful, and we’re continuing to build those relationships.
Do you have any big plans for the business you can share with us?
We’re excited to keep growing across Canada, while continuing to strengthen our local presence. We’ve developed an efficient way to onboard new clients ensuring they get the help they need in a really painless way. We can have a whole new HR landscape in place for a business within a week.
What’s your favourite thing about being a member of the Whistler Chamber?
The connections! The Chamber has been a great way to meet other business owners, share ideas, and feel part of a supportive, driven community. The Après series is so fun. We never miss an opportunity to come out.
What do you regularly remind yourself of?
That it takes time to build trust and recognition in a new market—but consistency and genuine care for your clients really does pay off.
What advice do you have for other local business owners?
Be clear about the problem you solve and don’t underestimate the value of relationships and the impact that your employees have on your brand. Whistler is built on community—lean into that.
What do you love about the Whistler business community?
The entrepreneurial spirit and vibrant energy. Everyone’s trying to build something great, and there’s a real willingness to collaborate and help each other succeed.
