The Whistler Experience® Program 

The Whistler Experience® Program is a community-unified effort to help Whistler create outstanding service experiences and uphold Whistler’s reputation for incredible customer service. Since its inception in 2014, the program has trained over 25,000 Whistlerites, building powerful experiences for our workforce and customers alike.

But that’s not all.

Those who take part in The Whistler Experience® are eligible for exclusive benefits in both winter and summer, including the Whistler Blackcomb Spirit Pass (with it’s own list of benefits), Whistler Spirit Transit Pass, deals on adventure activities, cost savings on fitness programs and passes, access to affordable training and networking events and more!

How it Works – Overview

  1. The Whistler Experience® is a customer service training and resort awareness initiative for employers and employees in Whistler.
  2. Businesses must be Whistler Chamber Members for their employees to be eligible to participate.
  3. Register for the Whistler Experience® program by creating an account (or by logging in to your existing account).
  4. Complete your selected Whistler Experience® training course.
  5. Once you have completed your training, you will receive a unique Whistler Experience® number via email (10 digit confirmation number) that you can use to take advantage of Whistler Experience® program benefits, including the Whistler Blackcomb Spirit pass. Speed up your time at Guest Services by creating a Whistler Blackcomb account if you do not have one already!

HOW TO SET UP YOUR ORGANIZATION FOR THE WHISTLER EXPERIENCE® + SPIRIT PASS

1. Designate a Whistler Experience Administrator

  • Assign a Whistler Experience® Administrator
  • Decide if the business is going to pay for any employees’ WB Spirit Passes
  • Decide if the business is paying for any skills development training courses and/or admin fees

2. Register & login as the Whistler Experience® Administrator

3. Tell your employees registration is open

4. If the employer would like to pay for the training session

  • Please email whistlerexperience@whistlerchamber.com, and we will set you up with a link to share with employees
    • be sure to include:
      • How many employees you are registering
      • If you are paying for their $40 admin fee
      • What course you would like to register them for
      • We will then invoice you for training fees.

5. Approving employees

  • Once your employees have completed their training, you will get an email asking to approve them.  You have 2 options:
    • Employer Paid – Meaning the business is paying for the pass.
      • You will need to email Whistler Blackcomb at wbpassadmin@vailresorts.com to make sure your credit card details are up to date
      • Once you approve your employees, they will get an email once their pass is ready to be picked up (IMPORTANT: this can take up to 72 hours)
      • Employer paid passes allow the business the ability to hotlist employees, and check when they were active on the mountain (contact wbpassadmin@vailresorts to in regards to pass activity). We do not hotlist employees for you.
    • Employee Paid – The employee is paying for their pass.
      • Employees will get emailed a Whistler Experience® number once they are approved, they then take this to Guest Relations to purchase a pass
      • Employee passes do not allow the business to hotlist passes, they can only hotlist the pass if the employee quits

6. Hotlisting Passes:

  • Employer paid passes can be hotlisted by logging in as an administrator through the Whistler Experience. If you have an urgent need, please email wbpassadmin@vailresorts.com.

HOW TO REGISTER YOURSELF FOR THE WHISTLER EXPERIENCE® + SPIRIT PASS

1. In order to register you will need to go the Whistler Experience® login page. 

  • If you have had a WB Spirit Pass before, you can login with your credentials.
    • If you are new to the Whistler Experience® program, you will need to create an account.
    • For issues regarding passwords/login information please email whistlerexperience@whistlerchamber.com

 

2. Complete a Whistler Experience® skills development training course

  • Once logged in, you will choose and pay for a training session
  • Online courses: if you haven’t accessed our online courses before, you will be prompted to click ‘enrol for free’ to access your training course (Course content is through the platform Thinkific).
  • In-person courses: if you selected an in-person training or event as your qualifying course, you will still be issued with a unique Whistler Experience Number immediately upon approval by your employer and be able to access all the program benefits straight away, including the Spirit Pass. Please note that if you do not attend your in-person training, your pass will be hotlisted and access to all benefits will cease.
  • Ask your employer if they are paying for your $40 participation fee, or any training fees.
  • If your employer is paying for any fees, they will need to contact whistlerexperience@whistlerchamber.com

 

3. Be approved by your employer

  • In order to get your Spirit Pass you will need to be approved by your employer.
  • Your Whistler Experience Administrator will get an email once you have completed your Whistler Experience® skills development training course, allowing them to approve you.

     

    4. Get your Spirit Pass + access your benefits

    • If you are paying for your own pass:
      • Once you are approved and have completed your training, you will be provided with a unique Whistler Experience® number.
      • This is the number you bring to Guest Relations at Whistler Blackcomb, and they will sell you a Spirit Pass. Speed up your time at Guest Services by creating a Whistler Blackcomb account if you have not done so already!
      • Your employer does not have the right to hotlist your pass if you pay for it yourself. Your pass can only be hotlisted if you leave/quit your job.

    • If your employer is paying for your pass:
    • Once you register and complete your training, your Whistler Experience Administrator will login and approve you as an employee and select ‘employer paid’ as your pass type.
      • Your information is then sent to Whistler Blackcomb, and you will receive an email when your pass is ready to be picked up. This can take up to 72 hours.
      • Your employer has the right to hotlist your pass if you call in sick, note they have the ability to see if you were on the mountain.
